Set sail for an unforgettable day of sea angling off Ireland’s stunning Hook Peninsula and Waterford Estuary! Our experienced skipper and friendly crew are passionate about fishing and love sharing their knowledge with anglers of all levels — from complete beginners to seasoned pros.

Your 6-hour trip is packed full with excitement, fresh sea air, and the thrill of the catch. Do you want to stay out longer? No problem — trips can be extended for an additional fee so you can make the most of your time on the water.

We fish around four miles off the iconic Hook Lighthouse, where rich waters offer a great variety of species and the chance for some fantastic catches. Rod hire is available for just €10, and tackle can be purchased onboard (payable on arrival).

Fresh mackerel and lug work are typically used as bait to attract a variety of fish species during your trip.

Each trip can accommodate up to 10 anglers (plus crew).

Reef & Drift Fishing

Our reef and drift fishing trips operate 3-4 miles off Hook Lighthouse, offering an exciting opportunity to enjoy sea fishing in Ireland while catching a diverse range of fish. The sandbanks and rocky reefs around the Hook Peninsula are teeming with life, providing ideal habitats for cod, pollock and wrasse.

Wreck Fishing

For the more experienced angler, we offer wreck fishing trips that explore the fascinating underwater landscapes created by over 30 shipwrecks within a 20-mile radius of Hook Head.

These waters are perfect for sea fishing (in Ireland), with the chance to catch pollock, long and conger eel while experiencing the thrill of fishing over wrecks.

Responsible Fishing

At Bait and Book, we promote responsible fishing — catch and release is encouraged, though you’re welcome to keep a couple of fish to bring home and cook.
